Ibn al-Sheikh al-Libi, a detainee who gave false information cited by the Bush administration in the run-up to the Iraq war, died in prison
in Libya, an apparent suicide.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appealed to Egypt for support in creating a moderate Arab block against Iran.  He also pledged to renew discussions with the Palestinians within a few weeks.

President Obama threatened to limit intelligence sharing with the U.K. if the British High Court discloses new details of the treatment of former Guantanamo detainee Binyam Mohamed.

The question that should have been asked of Dick Cheney on "Meet the Press," should have been if he authorized torture on the likes of al-Libi in order to get them to falsely confess about Iraq's involvement in 9-11. It seems to me that the Bush administration used one war crime (torture) in order to justify another(the invasion of Iraq).

Congress should create an independent blue-ribbon panel or similar body to investigate a host of previously unreviewable activities of the Bush administration, including its detention, interrogation and surveillance programs. Only by chronicling and confronting the past in a comprehensive, bipartisan fashion can we reclaim our moral authority and establish a credible path forward to meet the complex challenges of a post-Sept. 11 world. replica rolex
