Drug Testing
Posted by Ilan Goldenberg

You really can't make this stuff up.

The government is testing drugs with severe side effects like psychosis and suicidal behavior on hundreds of military veterans, using small cash payments to attract patients into medical experiments that often target distressed soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, a Washington Times/ABC News investigation has found.

That's nothing. Normal American civilian workers get tested for innocent substances like pot and cocaine all the time and if they fail they lose their jobs. Let's save our outrage for the true outrages.

"I can appreciate that the number of 1,000 suicide attempts a month might be shocking," [Veterans Secretary Jim Peake] said, "but in a system as large as ours ... and consistent with the literature, we might well expect a larger number of attempts than that. . .maybe we should have been looking at this sooner, but we didn't have that infrastructure in place."

Thank you for your sharing! I like i very much!

I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since they're already letting our troops be used for target practice by BOTH sides in the Iraqi civil war.
