The Army still wont meet its recruitment goals: The U.S. Supreme Court ruled today that colleges that accept federal money must allow military recruiters on campus. Colleges had objected because the Army's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy is discrimanatory against homosexuals.
I've always been puzzeled by the objection against military recruitman on college campuses.
From my understanding, the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy is the result of the US Government law, as set by Congress, it is not set by the Military. So punishing the miltiary is like punishing the victim for the crime.
Additionally, recruitment on campus, esp. ivy league-type campuses, will help bring about the inequality many liberals like Michael Moore has been saying, notably the e lack of the rich, educated and the elite in the military.
The military should represent all of the America fighting for America, and that includes gays (so write to your Senator and let them know) and the well educated/rich (so write to your Alumi Society and let them know, too).
